Foxy's has brought a closer understanding between my wife and I with the question
"Where do you want to eat?"
which
often times brings any number of differing restaurants, food types, and
preferences, to bear in mind & (hopefully) agree upon. When either
of us suggest to the other "How about Foxy's?", we easily agree 4 out
of 5 times!
Foxy's is compact restaurant
with a high wood beamed ceiling reminiscent of both an old wooden
sailing ship or the old International House of Pancakes structures.
There are 2 outstanding attractions which bring people back to Foxy's restaurant, the food and the service. They are good in either order. Did I say 2 things? I should have said there are 3.
The
menu selection, besides being delicious, is also large and varied; and
the prices are reasonable. My favorite item for breakfast is called
Fred's Special, a croissant sandwiching scrambled eggs, cheese, and
bacon or sausage, served with fruit and your choice of potatoes or
fresh fruit (usually very good & better than most!). There are also
superior Mexican dishes available; and for the meat eaters in your
circle, their T-bone, Top Sirloin, & New York Steaks are available
for breakfast or Dinner. One does not have to be strictly an eater of
meat to be able to tell the quality and price (surprisingly reasonable)
surpasses most coffee shops and well known restaurant
chains too! The servers, hosts/hostesses, and the support workers, are
personable and charming especially working with crowds that overflow
their parking lot which is very often filled to capacity (another small
lot is located around the other side of the block with steps connecting
it to the restaurant's lot) but Sunday mornings are reason enough for my wife and I to opt parking on the street.
I especially like how Foxy's support staff (bus people) keep your coffee cup filled!
Come
early to avoid the wait and parking problems. Really cute and cozy
interior and fun toasters on the side tables. I had crab cakes
benedict and it was quite delicious. The hollandaise sauce is a bit
too sour but the overall texture is great. The english muffin at the
bottom is also nicely toasted. Portion was too big for a little girl
like me. I also ordered a mocha and it came in a huge huge cup and
lots of whipped cream. I had to end up scooping them on the side..
Don't
get too upset if you see some of the menu items cannot be substituted,
because that just mean they want to get your food out faster and more
efficient. Friendly service too.

This place has such a cool vibe.
Gotta love the toasters on the tables and the fireplace at the helm of this A frame, cabin like building.
It's always packed on the weekends so be prepared to wait, but the breakfast menu makes it worth it.
Omelets, Pancakes, Waffles....take your pick they're all really good.
Standard breakfast fare with a cool vintage vibe.

For
what it is, Foxy's is fantastic. They have a menu with enough variety
to please anything but the most picky vegan, (meaning they DO have
tasty vegetarian options).
I'm sure you've heard of the
toasters, they are cool, but that also means you can plug in your damn
laptop at any table, how cool is that!
They're great about
coffee refills, and the portions are ample; they will even split single
entree orders gracefully onto two plates if you ask.
The service
is great, they've got inside and outside seating, and the atmosphere is
cozy too, good environment for friends, family, a nice relaxing night
out, or just alone and hungry during the week. This place never fails
to fill a niche.
Try the chili nachos, they're fantastic (this is not on the menu).

Toasters,
toasters galore! This place used to be walking distance from my
previous casa. There was construction all around it from some time, but
now that sprawling Americana mess is across
